During the Olympics and Paralympics sometimes all I had handy was my iPhone to record interviews and catch video clips. The built-in mic doesn’t deliver the best audio quality, though, so I welcomed the chance to try out VeriCorder’s mini mic. It works with the iPhone, BlackBerry or Nokia smartphones - any smartphone MP3 player with a 3.5 mm, four-pin jack. For iPod touch users, it can turn their touch into a Skype phone. The mic is flexible, with a 180-degree range of rotation. It’s ultra-sensitive so you probably don’t want to use it if you’re catching video of a rock concert (www.vericorder.com).
